Philosophy
Residual Sugar promotes the fun side of wine. Wine need not be stuffy or pretentious, it's just food after all and drinking wine should never be an intimidating experience. Bartenders are relaxed, informed, and passionate about wine, and readily share their comments, suggestions and observations with customers. Residual Sugar encourages guests to ask questions and try wines outside their usual comfort zone.
Continuous Wine Education
Wine education is central to Residual Sugar's philosophy. Guests will be provided a tasting grid to help guide them on their wine journey. Residual Sugar's goal is to expose its customers to new aspects of wine appreciation and a greater understanding of the nuances of any given wine.
Ongoing Wine Events
Once a week, Residual Sugar will offer a tasting of 4 to 5 wines on a particular theme. The tastings are casual and personalized. 10% Discounts will be offered to all guests attending.
Once a month, a more structured wine tasting will be held at Residual Sugar. At this event, a winemaker, owner, or sales representative will speak to participants about the 4 or 5 wines being presented. Once again a 10% discount will be offered to all guests in attendance.
Wine on Tap
Residual Sugar will practice a greener and fresher alternative to bottled wines served by the glass, by offering 4 or 5 wines by tap from a keg. A keg holds about 26 bottles of wine. No bottles, no corks, no labels, no waste. This not only helps the environment, but the cost savings is passed onto the consumer.
Large Selection of Premium Wines by the Glass
Residual Sugar features some of the world’s best wines with over 35 available by the glass. Residual Sugar is able to offer this wide selection thanks to its unique 32 Tap Cruvinet System, enabling wines to be opened while maintaining their freshness and flavor.
Additionally, Residual Sugar makes its entire 525+ item wine list available by the glass, provided that the party orders at least two glasses of that wine. This unique aspect of Residual Sugar's wine program allows customers to have the opportunity to taste a wider selection of wines, many of them limited production. All partial bottles are added to a blackboard behind the bar and sold by the glass.
